Essay – Frankenstein

Intro: “My person was hideous and my stature gigantic. What did this mean? Who was I? What was I? Whence did I come? What was my destination?” The book Frankenstein written by Mary Shelly was published 200 years ago, in 1818. The book follows a young man, Victor, who is set on going against nature and creating a new species of life. Victor is a very intelligent man who comes from a rich background, who also attends a pretentious university in his attempt to gather the knowledge for his new project…

BP1: Throughout the book, the monster in Frankenstein shows dualism, this is when a charter such as the monster shows two opposing principles, usually the two principles being those of good and evil. The monster claims to hate all humankind but then also shows that he can be a loving character and essentially a good person.
